The Importance of Networking

By Aaron Paitich

Email, social, web, print, video, mobile — there have never been more communication platforms to reach your target audience. While developing a comprehensive marketing plan is crucial to any organization’s success, there is still one age-old networking method that trumps all:

Face to face.

Most companies don’t have the option to speak to their audience in person. We have that opportunity every year with the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).

In late April, coaches at all levels convene at the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club for panel discussions, interaction with hockey equipment manufacturers and to recognize those who have displayed exemplary standards in stewardship of the game.

In addition to securing sponsorship support for the annual conference, Touchpoint Media publishes “Stops & Starts”, the official print newsletter for the AHCA. With demands on their time increasing for all coaches, this monthly communication serves as a valuable way to stay connected and informed on hockey community happenings.

It is also an excellent example of custom content harnessing the attention and enthusiasm of a target audience – all the more so with one ranging in composition from Division I to club hockey.

It is an honor for Touchpoint Media to work with the AHCA on an annual basis. The organization, which has been in existence for 78 years, focuses on maintaining the highest possible standards in hockey and the hockey profession.

Special acknowledgment should be given to Joe Bertagna and Brian Riley for their leadership of the AHCA and commitment to growing amateur hockey at any level. Thank you, Joe, Brian and all college hockey coaches, for our chance to be of service.
